Graduate Research Associate, Post Masters- Nuclear Engineering & Modeling
About The Position
Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is inviting applications for the position of Graduate Research Associate, Post Masters. The Graduate Research Associate will provide full-time, year-round technical support to a wide variety of projects through participation and collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering and research teams. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a collaborative set of research staff and project tasks and possess the appropriate analytic and task management skills to contribute to the engineering and research activities. Excellent communication and technical writing skills are expected.
Requirements
- Candidates must have received a Master’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
Nice To Haves
- Candidate with a nuclear engineering background
- Modeling and experimental background
- Currently pursuing a PhD
Responsibilities
- Contribute to portions of journal papers, reports, software, proceedings, scientific and technical products.
- May contribute to the development of intellectual property leading to publications, copyrights and/or patents.
- Effective written and oral communication is required for this position as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively on diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
- Work to broaden and deepen own technical knowledge and skills.
- Lead subtasks and contributes to the production of technical reports, scientific and technical products, and journal papers in support of principle investigators and project managers.
- Ability to develop internal and external scientific networks.
