About The Position

Provide technical support for a research project that deals with gene expression during papaya fruit ripening and it modification by ethylene inhibitors. Confirmation of conclusions using qPCR is expected. Analyze the data with minimal supervision, make recommendations to achieve project objectives, and prepare technical reports, manuscripts and presentations on the results.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in an advance degree program at UHM.
  • Applicant should have a background in plant physiology, or plant biology.
  • Familiarity with climacteric fruit ripening, bioinformatics especially gene transcription analysis and PCR is essential.
