The Epidemiology Program in the Public Health Sciences Division of Fred Hutch is seeking a Research Assistant to utilize statistical methods to lead analyses of spatial transcriptomic data from a breast cancer study.

Requirements

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and enrollment in an applicable graduate program (e.g., Epidemiology) is required
  • Knowledge and/or prior experience in epidemiology and biostatistics is required
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS) is required
  • Highly motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • The Research Assistant will lead statistical analyses of spatial transcriptomic data focused on identifying novel tumor tissue based features related to risk of recurrence across different breast cancer subtypes.
  • This will involve learning statistical techniques and also keeping up with current literature in this field.
  • They will disseminate study findings through submitting abstracts for presentation at scientific conferences and drafting manuscripts to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals.
