About The Position

As a Graduate Research Assistant, you’ll collaborate with Professor Cunningham at the LBJ School of Public Affairs to explore and examine criminal justice policies. Projects will include: assessing the consequences of LBJ’s War on Crime, evaluating the impact of prison oversight, and analyzing crime trends in Texas.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and previous use of statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, Python) is desired but not required.
  • GRAs must meet the Conditions for Student Employment set forth by the Office of Graduate Studies.

  • Interested in Economics, Law, Public Policy, Criminal Justice, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data relevant to criminal justice policies.
  • Support the development of policy impact models and conduct literature reviews to evaluate policy impacts.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and policy briefs to communicate findings effectively.
  • Work closely with Professor Cunningham and the research team to contribute to ongoing projects.
