About The Position

The Graduate Research Assistant for Health & Biomedical Sciences will support research activities within the College of Health Professions at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. This role involves assisting with various needs assessments, including faculty focus groups, surveys, and student interviews, contributing to data collection and analysis, and ensuring compliance with research protocols.

Requirements

  • Must be admitted to a graduate degree program.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Be registered full-time for the respective semester (nine semester credit hours during fall and spring semesters, three during summer session, or the required number to fulfill remaining degree requirements).
  • Experience with grant-funded research projects.
  • Familiarity with Qualtrics/REDCap.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of human subjects research training (CITI certification)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the research needs of five needs assessments including faculty focus groups, faculty surveys, research staff key informant interviews, student focus groups, and student surveys.
  • Recruit participants for research activities and secure informed consent.
  • Perform data cleaning and descriptive data analysis.
  • Conduct literature reviews relevant to the research projects.
  • Facilitate interviews and conversations as part of the research process.
