About The Position

The Quantum Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (QuGIP) is a new interdisciplinary graduate program in Quantum Information Science and Engineering, within Ohio State's Enterprise for Research, Innovation, and Knowledge. We are seeking a Graduate Program Coordinator to help establish, organize, and manage activities related to this new graduate program. QuGIP has participating faculty from the Departments of Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics in the College of Arts and Sciences, and from the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering. With this wide range of faculty and students from a wide range of backgrounds, we offer a dynamic environment where contributions directly impact student success and program excellence. Working collaboratively with faculty leadership, the Graduate Studies Program Coordinator manages complex projects supporting the graduate program and its students. This team member exercises independent judgment on routine matters, receives general guidance on new projects, and handles sensitive information with discretion. The major responsibilities of this position include the following: Program Administration, Student Support, and Student Recruitment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in education or business administration.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
  • High degree of organization, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work across many different functions and offices in a larger team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with data and electronic systems, handling sensitive information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of experience in relevant positions.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and willingness to learn specialized tools such as Qualtrics and DocuSign
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and present data for reporting and decision-making purposes.
  • Commitment to providing excellent service to students.
  • Knowledge of University graduate academic rules and regulations.
  • Experience with student program development.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Advanced familiarity with Access database.
  • Experience in academic advising, guidance counseling or customer service experience dealing with student populations.
  • Workday experience.
