Be part of the only dedicated stroke unit in northern Michigan , a 29-bed private room unit specializing in the care of patients with neurologic deficits. As part of a Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) designation , we care for a wide range of complex neurological conditions, including: Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes Seizure disorders Headaches and mood disorders Rare and complex neurologic syndromes Post-operative neurosurgical care (e.g., thrombectomies, TNK, craniotomies, VP shunts) What Sets Us Apart: State-of-the-Art Technology: One of only five hospitals nationwide with biplane CT scanner Comprehensive Monitoring: All rooms are equipped with telemetry and cardiac monitoring Multidisciplinary Excellence: One-unit access to dedicated pharmacists, PT, OT, and speech therapy World-Class Team: Collaborate with renowned neurosurgeons and interventionalists Hospital-Wide Impact: Our nurses are integral to the Stroke Medical Response Team (MRT) Nurse Residency Program: New Nurses are enrolled in our robust Nurse Residency Program, designed to support clinical growth, confidence, and long-term success
