At GHD, we are looking for a new Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join the Maritime & Coastal team at our San Luis Obispo office. In this role, you will perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment such as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems. Be part of the dynamic culture! Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-2 years of general experience

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate reports by collecting data from various standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
  • Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions.
  • Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education.
  • Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
  • Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities.
  • Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues.
  • Support others by carrying out a range of research activities.
  • Help specialists set up and test new products or processes; install complex systems with guidance.
  • Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships.
