Graduate Internship School Based Mental Health Clinician (unpaid)
About The Position
Effective School Solutions (ESS) is a leading provider of school-based mental health services for K–12 students, serving over 2,000 students across nine states. ESS delivers high-acuity clinical care within public schools, helping students with significant emotional and behavioral needs achieve academic and mental health stability. ESS is seeking a graduate-level Clinical Counseling Intern (Master’s in Clinical Counseling) for a full academic year unpaid placement . This internship offers hands-on experience providing school-based mental health services under the supervision of a licensed clinician. Interns will be embedded within one school site and will work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in counseling.
- Eligible for internship placement per university guidelines
- Strong interest in working with children and adolescents
- Professional, collaborative, and eager to learn
- Commitment to completing the full academic year
Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling to students
- Co-facilitate or facilitate group therapy
- Participate in treatment planning and case consultation
- Engage in family communication and meetings
- Complete clinical documentation in ESS’s electronic medical record
- Attend supervision, team meetings, and professional development sessions
