About The Position

The Graduate Intern for Summer Sessions at Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies will support the administration and execution of summer programs for high school and college students. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to enhance the educational experience of participants, ensuring smooth operations, and providing support for events and activities. The intern will gain hands-on experience in student affairs and program management while contributing to a diverse and inclusive educational environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Currently pursuing a Master's Degree in higher education, student affairs, or a similar field.
  • Effective communication skills in writing and speaking.
  • Experience with Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Ability to multi-task and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion and integrity in handling confidential matters.
  • Interest in working with high school and undergraduate students.
  • Passion for supporting diverse student populations.
  • Interest in international education and working with international students.
  • Positive attitude and solid work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Student Affairs and other team members to support summer programs.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Office of Residential Living, managing room assignments and housing changes.
  • Assist in purchasing for Summer High School Sessions and coordinate with vendors.
  • Aid in executing events for the Summer College Immersion Program (SCIP).
  • Enforce program policies and assist in addressing conduct violations.
  • Manage weekly check-ins for Summer High School Sessions students.
  • Respond to inquiries via the Summer Hoya email account.
  • Support Summer Sessions by coordinating programs and services.
  • Act as a primary contact for Summer Honors Institutes students.
  • Assist in planning and executing summer student programs and events.
  • Help increase social media presence for summer programs.
  • Assist in the administration of Summer Sessions and related initiatives.
  • Support budget monitoring and record keeping for programs.
  • Collect and process summer-related data.
  • Work cooperatively with partner offices across the University.
  • Fulfill administrative and clerical responsibilities promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling participant issues.
  • Attend assigned events and meetings.
  • Be accessible via cell phone and email during the internship.
  • Identify and resolve issues as they arise.
