About The Position

The Industrial Hygiene Graduate Intern will assist Delta's Manager of Environmental Health and Industrial Hygiene with occupational air sampling, noise monitoring, heat stress evaluation, water testing, ergonomic evaluations, and other assessments of the workplace and passenger environment. The Graduate Intern's work schedule will be full-time during the Summer 2025 semester and will be able to work part-time during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters during the school year.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a current/active student in an accredited graduate program at a college and/or university
  • Must have completed the first year of graduate program
  • Willing to commit to the duration of the internship which may last up to 12 months or longer
  • Willing to work full-time during the Summer 2025 semester and part-time during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters
  • Flexibility to work occasional nights, early mornings, or weekends
  • Some overnight travel required
  • Able to work onsite in Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the internship
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments
  • Handle confidential material appropriately
  • Demonstrate strong technical written and oral communication skills
  • Interact with internal and external customers of all levels
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel, and have experience with data management
  • Function effectively in high pressure situations
  • Comfortable with extensive work travel
  • Self-starter
  • Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data
  • Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles
  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • At least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Currently obtaining a Master of Public Health degree in Environmental Health or a related field
  • Able to travel for company business up to 20%
