Under close supervision, the Intern, Naval Architect performs routine assignments that are clearly defined and require the application of standard design techniques, procedures and criteria.   • Works closely with the Sr. Electrical Engineer to assist and support them.
  • Assist in developing DC and AC electrical load analysis, One-line diagrams, Voltage drop and Cable Selection, Electrical Equipment Arrangement etc.
  • Adhere to all company safety, environmental, quality assurance and security programs.
  • 0+ Years.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems for marine vessels and floating structures, such as ships, barges, tugs, etc., and performs calculations necessary to assist in the design and fabrication of such vessels, but not essential.
  • Internship requires completion of at least Four years of undergraduate studies from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in electrical engineering.
  • Must have working knowledge of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
  • Must possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
  • Previous internship experience is preferred, but not required.
