We are looking for a driven Graduate Fire Protection Engineer to join our Northeast Fire Protection & Life Safety team in Burlington, MA! This is a unique opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects that span fire sprinkler systems, clean agent suppression, and fire detection and alarm system design. In this role, you'll collaborate with experienced consultants and licensed engineers to deliver high-quality fire protection solutions. Your responsibilities will include building and fire code consulting, performance-based fire engineering design, and conducting thorough reviews of architectural and multi-discipline drawings for code compliance. You'll also develop contract documents, perform hydraulic calculations, and oversee on-site installations to ensure alignment with design specifications. Be part of the dynamic culture! Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Recommendations: Advise managers how to apply a wide variety of existing procedures and precedents. Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently. Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them. Audit: Work within established audit control systems to deliver specified outcomes or provide general support. Knowledge Management System: Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice. Business Requirements Identification: Support collection of business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, and workflow analysis, to express requirements clearly and succinctly. Feasibility Studies: Contribute to and support feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective, and document findings. Contract Management: Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan. Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards. Policy Development and Implementation: Work within established procedures to achieve specified goals. Product and Solution Development: Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products. Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals. Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in the evaluation and/or design of Fire Protection Systems
  • Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards, including Life Safety Code Requirements for both new construction and modifications to existing buildings
  • Exposure to the application of fire modeling (i.e. FDS, CONTAM, Pathfinder, CFAST, etc.)
  • AutoCAD and/or REVIT design capability and experience a plus
