About The Position

Join DOF as our new Graduate Engineer We are looking for another member to join our Engineering Team: a working environment consisting of highly educated, skilled, positive, innovative, and enthusiastic employees. The Graduate Engineer's purpose is to contribute to project or design engineering to the best of their ability, under guidance from superiors and taking up all opportunities to learn. Graduate Engineers’ performance will be assessed via participation in an annual performance appraisal. Key measures are: o Elimination of design / project related safety incidents in DOF projects within the extent of your control. o Completion of project / tender deliverables within schedule and budget. o Minimal corrections required of externally issued deliverables. o Smooth delivery of work packages to the extent of your control. o Positive feedback from project teams, managers, OCMs and Clients. o Growth in personal technical and professional capability. Administration Graduate Engineers must ensure timesheet hours are recorded within one day of a completed week with itemization of hours by deliverable. Collaboration Graduate Engineers are not expected to engage in collaboration outside of DOF. Training Graduate Engineers must: Undertake all DOF in-house training required in accordance with corporate governance. Undertake all industry training, medical & fitness checks required to gain access to offshore worksites - including BOSIET / FOET / HUET / OGUK Medical (or equivalent) / CA-EBS / D&A Testing etc. Be mentored by engineering superiors. On occasion Graduate Engineers may be required to: Assist Regional Engineering Manager with development and maintenance of DOF Engineering and UNISEA IMS documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (as minimum) and eligibility for membership of a national certifying institute (PE / EA / IMechE / RINA etc).
  • None expected outside of work-experience component of Bachelor degree
  • Microsoft packages - including Word / Excel / Project / PowerPoint / Teams, etc.
  • DOF Policies, Code of Conduct and Values.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment tools and techniques.
  • DOF Business Management System (UNISEA IMS).
  • Statutory requirements, HSE regulations, Industry codes & standards related to Offshore Engineering such as AS / API / DNV / AISC / IMCA etc.
  • DOF's vessels capabilities & systems, with particular focus on regionally based assets.
  • Project Management Tools.
  • Commercial & contractual implications during engineering & operations phase.
  • Related departments: HR, Finance, marine, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Consider Health, Safety and Environment elements in all aspects of work package development, equipment specification, and offshore execution
  • Actively pursue safe work practices
  • Ensure project procedures, designs and equipment fulfil the required outcomes of applicable risk assessments
  • Report to Supervisor all HSE concerns, hazards, near misses and incidents immediately, and be prepared to stop the job
  • Pursue innovation and improvement in engineering & design practices
  • Pursue the concept of 'Design for safety, function and practicality / economy of fabrication', in accordance with the DOF Engineering Manual, project BoD, Client expectations, budget and schedule
  • Understand and apply industry codes / standards required to support specific project or tendering requirements - including AS / DNV / API / IMCA / AISC etc.
  • Ensure all technical deliverables are concise, legible, accurate and in compliance with DOF standards & templates
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with the DOF Engineering Manual
