Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering
  • Certified as an Engineer in Training (EIT) having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to work at a variety of locations
  • Experience in GIS software, ArcPRO
  • Experience in HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS modeling software
  • Basic knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering
  • Desire to continue developing skills and knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week
  • Ability to work in posted location
  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment, occasional travel or field visits may be required to support
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains associated with site visits and other project related activities

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydraulic and hydrologic engineering design services
  • Runoff calculations
  • Open-channel hydraulics
  • Bridge hydraulics
  • Culvert design.
  • Detention facility design
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models
  • Analyze drainage and flooding problems and consider alternatives to mitigate those problems.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates for mitigation actions
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing analyses and results
  • Travel to project sites and perform field work to obtain data for projects
  • Attend client and public meetings related to projects
