Job Description: Purpose: Under limited supervision and with Professional Engineering review, this position uses engineering knowledge to independently perform a variety of moderately complex engineering projects/assignments that are routine in nature but that may require adaptation or modifications from standard practices. Individuals will be capable of exercising engineering judgment within defined methods, procedures, and practices. Notes to Candidate: This position will provide technical expertise in building energy analysis to support Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) rating programs, consulting services, energy code advancement, education and professional development. Primary duties include: Review client computer-based building energy models submitted for AEGB rating program compliance. Provide technical consulting to project teams. Build energy models and analyze energy savings impacts of energy code and rating advances for a variety of building types. Develop and maintain engineering calculation tools for building performance analysis. Assist in development of methodology and tools to assess actual energy performance of large building stock.
