Dr. Natalia Sánchez in the Department of Physical Therapy at Chapman University in Irvine, CA is seeking an hourly DPT student- research assistant to support studies of human walking in individuals post-stroke and individuals without neurologic or orthopedic injury. The primary aim of the lab is to understand the individual factors that shape walking function and how these factors change after injury. We take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of human movement by combining techniques and principles from engineering, neuroscience, biomechanics, and exercise physiology. Students will have access to the following equipment: 1) a Motek GRAIL integrated dual-belt treadmill, motion capture system and VR environment, 2) a metabolic cart, 4) a telemetered EMG system.
