About The Position

The Graduate Assistant for Wellness will assist the Wellness Coordinator with the day-to-day responsibilities of the UARK Wellness program including wellness and health education programming and administrative tasks. The responsibilities include; developing and leading workshops, assisting with the execution of events and presentations in conjunction with the Wellness Peer Educators, assisting with training of the Wellness Peer Educator staff, and data collection by tracking and compiling attendance tracking and learning objectives. This position will develop UA Career-Ready skills such as Communication, Professionalism, and Critical Thinking. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average
  • Admission to a graduate degree program at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville
  • Knowledge of health promotion and behavior change theories
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literacy and technology skills, preferably with Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent group facilitation and public speaking skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communications skill
  • Ability to create environments that foster participation of all groups
  • Ability to understand their own agency and social responsibility
  • Ability to identify and make referrals to network of campus services
