About The Position

The Department of Nursing seeks candidates for a Graduate Assistant to support the Test for Success Program. The Test for Success Graduate Assistant will perform tutoring with BSN nursing students at all levels.

Requirements

• Must be an RMU student enrolled in Nursing Graduate Program and must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Stays current with beginning level nursing content.
• Familiar with Google docs, Blackboard preferred and proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to learn software programs and new technology.
• Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• Detail oriented, flexible and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attend annual 2 day CRLA training through Center for Student Success.

• First Year Graduate Student or Greater

Responsibilities

• Performs tutoring with BSN nursing students of all levels.
• Prepares tutoring plans based on class content.
• Promotes Socratic Questioning from students during tutoring sessions.
• Assists students with developing study plans that incorporate time management and study skills.
• Performs basic office responsibilities when tutoring times are less than 10 hours/week.
• Performs related work as assigned.
