Specific job duties: Supervise 6 Resident Assistants (RAs) Meet one on one with RAs each week and provide ongoing supervision. Attend and facilitate RA staff meetings Mondays 5-8pm Provide overall leadership to the residence hall Assist in monitoring residence hall maintenance and cleanliness, performing student housing assignment duties and administering records and files to maintain operational efficiency of the residence halls. Assist in overseeing student conduct by partnering in intervention techniques, reporting incidents, conducting disciplinary hearings, promoting student accountability for actions, and maintaining administrative records to facilitate student development and maintain an orderly environment. Assist in maintaining effective student relations by collaborating on retention efforts with the Office of Student Success, facilitating roommate negotiations, and providing informal mentoring to students to contribute to students’ success and growth. Participate in regular professional development and learning opportunities with the other Graduate Assistants and colleagues. In collaboration with other colleagues, train student leaders to promote inclusive multicultural communities in the Residence Halls. Support underrepresented students, facilitate inclusive multicultural communities, and promote Residence Hall and campus-wide inclusion efforts. Work collaboratively with professional and student staff on various seasonal projects such as: Hall openings and closings (August and May) Room assignment process (April) New leadership training (April/May) Passive programming initiatives (education on topics such as social media, alcohol, roommate relationships, etc.) Other related duties as assigned. Compensation: The position is a part-time (20-25 hours/week), live-in position beginning July 27, 2026. Compensation includes free housing in a two bedroom apartment on-campus, utilities, meal plan and stipend of $10,000-$14,000 depending on dorm placement and scope of responsibility. In addition to an apartment, each Graduate Assistant Resident Director has a separate, private office in the hall. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required. Experience in Residence Life preferred. Enrollment in a Graduate Program (at Calvin, nearby or online) strongly preferred. FAITH and EDUCATIONAL COMMITMENT 1.
