About The Position

The Graduate Assistant for the Project Management Office (PMO) within the Center for Information Technology Excellence (CITE) supports the execution and oversight of IT projects across the university. Responsibilities include assisting with project intake, discovery meetings, and kickoff sessions; maintaining project documentation; and supporting the customization and use of PMO tools. This position may pay more than the minimum proposed salary listed above, depending on experience and/or qualifications of the selected candidate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Prairie View A&M University. (Minimum of 9 credit hours during the regular fall and spring semesters and 6 semester credit hours for the summer semester).
  • Must be in good academic standing.

Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination Support - Assist with scheduling, preparing agendas, and documenting outcomes for project meetings, including discovery sessions and kickoff events.
  • Documentation and reporting - Help maintain project documentation such as charters, timelines, and status reports. Support data collection and analysis to track project performance.
  • Stakeholder communication - Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to gather project requirements and ensure timely updates.
  • Tool and system support - Assist in the use and customization of project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Forms, TeamDynamix) to support intake and tracking processes.
  • Administrative support and other duties as assigned.
