About The Position

The Learning Commons Math Support Pathways program invites students to apply for a Graduation Assistant position to work with and assist the Math Peer Educators as they provide a critical role to provide academic assistance to increase success rates for students in B4 courses. The Math Support Pathways Learning Commons Graduate Assistant will act as a faculty liaison between the Learning Commons and math faculty. The GA will assist with assessment and data collection, tracking and analysis for reports and presentations. They also will assist with recruitment, development, and scheduling of math peer educator staff associated with the Support Pathways.

Requirements

  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and scheduling of math peer educators.
  • Implement learning support models and tools designed to support students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Assist with assessment of programmatic and holistic student success outcomes.
  • Promote use of embedded learning support as well as related learning support services available through the Learning Commons.
  • Meet with faculty and peer educators to discuss learning challenges, strategies, and support interventions.
  • Assist with recruitment of peer educator staff by building recruitment systems into programs.
  • Work collaboratively and attend planning meetings with Learning Commons, faculty, and peer educators.
