Job Title: Graduate Assistant - Library
About The Position
The library is seeking an eligible Neumann University graduate student for the position of Graduate Assistant (GA) - Library. GA Position Specifics: This position will report directly to the Coordinator, Information Literacy & Reference Librarian. It begins in January 2026 and ends mid-May 2026. There may be an opportunity to continue the graduate assistantship in the '26-'27 academic year depending on performance, but it is not guaranteed. This is a part-time (2/3) graduate assistantship; 14 hours per week, including some evening and weekends as required, hours may be adjusted to meet university needs.
Requirements
- Ability to work the following schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:30pm to 11pm
- Bachelor's degree required
- Enrolled master's degree candidate in an approved graduate program at Neumann University is required
- Registered for at least 6 graduate credits during any semester in which you are awarded a GA position
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above in graduate courses
- Library experience helpful
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, customer service and technology skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, and to work quickly and accurately
- Attention to detail and organization skills
- High degree of confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Candidates must possess an appreciation for, congruence with, and commitment to the Franciscan mission of the University

Responsibilities
- Assist the nighttime circulation specialist in monitoring the library space
- Educating library patrons on library policies and procedures
- Implementing library closing procedures as needed
- Assist library patrons for checking out materials, troubleshooting basic technology questions, and any other needs
