Barnard Library seeks a Graduate Student in Library and Information Science (or a related field) to work alongside the Dean of the Library, librarians, and library staff to support a faculty publishing campaign, focused on strengthening the visibility, preservation, and access to Barnard faculty publications. The GA will help identify faculty-authored works, assess open access eligibility to short-form publications, and support outreach efforts that build a culture of faculty engagement with library publishing and Columbia University repository services. This position offers hands-on experience in scholarly communications, collection development, library displays, and academic publishing support in a small liberal arts college environment. The GA will gain: Practical experience in faculty-focused collection development and scholarly communications Exposure to copyright and open access workflows Experience supporting a real-world academic publishing platform (Manifold) Opportunities to contribute to outreach, instruction, and faculty engagement initiatives Mentorship from academic library professionals, working directly with the Dean of the Barnard Library
