About The Position

The ECE department is soliciting applications for a Graduate Assistant position for 26/SP in the fields of electrical and computer engineering. This GA will assist an ECE faculty member in conducting research utilizing two 1/5th-scale autonomous vehicles, a heavy-lift drone, and near-space ballooning instruments. Duties will include all facets of engineering research and development including literature review, data gathering, data analysis, and conducting laboratory experiments as needed. This appointment is for 26/SP. Career Readiness Learning Objectives ( NACE ) Communication – Be able to clearly and effectively exchange information, ideas, facts, and perspectives with the faculty supervisor and any others working on the assigned project. Critical Thinking – Be able to identify technical issues, as applicable, arising from project activities and come up with feasible approaches to addressing those issues. Dissemination of Results Present the outcomes of your experience at Celebrate Gannon and/or other venues determined by the college, as applicable. Physical Demands Typical physical work in ECE lab settings and applicable field testing and/or operation

Requirements

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Hands-on and working knowledge for the work in laboratory settings, utilizing electronic devices, software tools, and Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Quick learner; be able to deliver

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in electrical engineering and computer engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in computer networking and embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in programming using C/C++ and python.
  • Proficiency and hand-on experience in Linux operating systems.
