About The Position

The Graduate Assistant- Government and Sociology will provide educationally beneficial assistance to the Master of Science in Criminal Justice (MSCJ). This position will work in-person 19 hours per week. Full assistantships (19 hours/week) cover all but $25 of tuition. Applicable student fees are not covered by the assistantship. Course loads for graduate assistants must be at least 6 graduate semester hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Approved for regular admission to a graduate degree program at Georgia College & State University.
  • Maintain academic good standing with a minimum GPA of 3.00.

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty in planning and implementing class instructions, meetings, orientations, recruitment fairs, lectures, receptions, and workshops.
  • Assist faculty in conducting evaluations and assessments.
  • Assist with research projects under the guidance of faculty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and participate in staff, committee, and other university meetings as appropriate and at the request of supervisor.
