About The Position

Shorter University, a NCAA Division II institution which competes in the Gulf South Conference and competes at the UCA Collegiate National Championships, is currently accepting applicants for the position of Graduate Assistant to the Cheerleading program. This position will be responsible for assisting the Head and Assistant Cheerleading Coaches with position specific coaching, traveling with the team, equipment inventory control, game day preparation, practices, strength & conditioning programs, and all other duties as assigned by the Head or Assistant Cheerleading Coaches. All activities shall be conducted within the policies and resource framework of the University, the Athletics Department, the Gulf South Conference, and NCA. In exchange for hours worked for the team, the successful candidate will be given free tuition for graduate courses subject to the Graduate Assistantship Guidelines of the University.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Admission to the Shorter University Graduate School
• Previous experience in high school or university cheerleading as a coach and/or player
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent communication skills
• Resilience to a fluid work schedule

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Sports Management
