About The Position

As a Graduate Assistant supporting UNIV150 and Career Services, you will serve as a student consultant helping fellow Chanticleers with career readiness and academic exploration through the involvement of UNIV150. This role blends direct student support with outreach and administrative responsibilities, contributing to the Career Consultant on the Go (CCotG) initiative and broader campus engagement.

Requirements

  • Must be a current CCU graduate student.
  • Availability for CCotG Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30-11:30 AM and 1:30-3:30 PM..
  • Strong time management, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, dependability, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Present workshops and classroom sessions aligned with UNIV150 modules, including career exploration, values assessment, resume writing, and personal branding.
  • Provide course-related support to UNIV150 students, including assignment guidance and platform training (Handshake, CareerShift, LinkedIn, TypeFocus).
  • Collaborate with UNIV150 instructors to integrate Career Services resources into the curriculum and support student success.
  • Deliver same-day career advising during CCotG and walk-in hours, assisting students with resumes, cover letters, job/internship searches, major/minor exploration, interview prep, and networking.
  • Maintain availability for CCotG on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30-11:30 AM and 1:30-3:30 PM.
  • Represent Career Services at tabling events, orientations, open houses, and special events.
  • Assist with career fairs such as Ready Set Hire and Job Fest.
  • Create and distribute career-related materials to support student engagement.
  • Present career-related topics to classrooms to promote Career Services and student development.
