About The Position

The Graduate Assistant will work on conducting research in the area of healthcare management, and provide editorial support to a leading quarterly, double-blind, peer-reviewed scholarly journal in this field that is edited by the Dean of the Lewis College of Business. Specific duties include: Provide research and documentation support on the focus, reach, usage and impact of the journal. Monitor, track and report the progress of manuscripts with steps, duration, and decisions. Copy-edit manuscripts in great detail. Regularly communicate with the publisher, authors, reviewers, and editorial board members to ensure smooth flow of manuscripts. Promptly respond to author queries. Develop expertise with ScholarOne manuscript management system. Prepare marketing materials and promote the journal amongst scholars and students in the field. Assist the Editor with writing the editorial article in each issue. Assist the Editor with data collection/analysis, conducting literature reviews, and other activities that aide in promoting scholarly work. Identify opportunities for special issues. Identify potential new authors, reviewers, and editorial board members, and promote the journal to them. Work with Dean’s office to manage records archives, as requested. Responsible for assisting Lewis College Dean with day-to-day data analysis and presentations as they come up. Other duties as assigned.
