Grading Foreman
About The Position
Fountain Services and Fountain Development are seeking an experienced grading foreman and crew of two equipment operators for a 3-month project in Blowing Rock, NC. Top pay, sign-on bonuses, and per diem! Pipe Foreman: $45/hr. and $10,000 sign-on bonus Equipment Operator: $25-35/hr. based on experience and $2,000 sign-on bonus $100/day per diem for all Overtime will be authorized and encouraged. The grading foreman position requires hands-on leadership and a strong background in installing storm water, water, and sewer systems, and thorough knowledge of trench safety. The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-focused, and capable of managing daily field operations while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Grading Foreman or similar leadership role
- Proven experience with storm water, water, and sewer pipe installation
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and elevations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with GPS and/or laser grading equipment
- Equipment operation experience (excavator, loader, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of pipe crews
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and grade stakes
- Oversee installation of storm drainage, water lines, and sanitary sewer systems
- Ensure work is completed according to project specifications and timelines
- Maintain safety compliance and enforce company safety policies
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors
- Monitor materials, equipment usage, and crew productivity
- Troubleshoot field issues and provide solutions on-site
