About The Position

Under direction of the schools' principal, plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure achievement and performance for every child.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or higher in Secondary Education, with a concentration in Middle Grades Social Studies, or History (6-12), from an accredited college or university.
• Meet the GaPSC requirements for certification.
• Knowledge of GPS curriculum and effective instructional practices.
• Understanding of the teaching/learning process.
• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
• Ability to infuse technology into curriculum.
• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, school-based staff, students, parents, and community.
• Respect for diversity in education.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong human relations skills.
