About The Position

ReadyWork is partnered up with several companies around Kern County who are in need of graders/sorters for all shifts. PURPOSE: Grade, sort, or classify unprocessed food and other agricultural products by size, weight, color, or condition. Place products in containers according to grade. Assure that product meets customer quality.

Requirements

• Be physically capable of working and standing for 8 hours or more daily.
• Be able to work in different work environment (either hot or cold environments).
• Always sanitize and wash hands before work begins.
• Always wear the appropriate clothing for job.
• Grade out defective product.
• Pack customer orders.
• Work in different work areas.
• Communicate with coworkers and leads.
• Keep areas clean.

Responsibilities

• Discard inferior or defective products and/or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing.
• Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.
• Place products in containers according to grade and mark grades on containers.
• Record grade and/or identification numbers on tags or on shipping, receiving, or sales sheets.
• Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel.
• General cleaning as directed by lead or supervisor.
