About The Position

The Grader position is responsible for ensuring that only quality products remain on the production line and that piece counts meet customer specifications. The role involves visually grading products as they are dropped onto the line, removing defective items, and ensuring compliance with customer requirements regarding quality, weight, and count. The Grader participates as a team member, contributing to the development and implementation of team concepts and policies, and coordinates work to ensure best practices among team members. The position also requires attending team meetings and fostering strong cohesiveness within the team regarding major issues such as direction, annual plans, and policy changes. The Grader must be familiar with Simmons' established operating systems and understand their role in supporting these systems. The job may also involve performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Visually grade product being dropped onto the line.
• Ensure only quality product remains on the line.
• Remove defective product off the line and place it into identified defect groups.
• Ensure the product meets customer requirements such as quality, weight, or count.
• Participate as a member of the team in ongoing development and communication.
• Coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members.
• Attend appropriate team meetings.
• Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and bring them to the attention of the team leader.
• Support the team in resolving issues and achieving synergy within the organization.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems.
