About The Position

Caton Construction Group is growing! Currently seeking a Grade Foreman for our roadway construction project in Catawba County, North Carolina (Hickory). Summary/Objective The Grade Foreman is a field position that is responsible to organize and lead a crew to safely and efficiently perform mass earthwork and excavating activities, balancing highway and road construction/reconstruction. The Foreperson works under the general direction of the Superintendent.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as construction foreman
Driver’s license is required.

Nice To Haves

diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) a plus.

Responsibilities

Coordinating construction work according to priorities and plans.
Plan, organize and lead grading crew.
Producing schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
Allocating general and daily responsibilities.
Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
Schedule aggregate material quantities and deliveries. Determine trucking needs and schedule truck.
Allocate general and daily responsibilities.
Supervise and train workers and tradespeople.
Ensure labor and other resources are adequate.
Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget.
Resolve problems when they arise.
Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
Assigning work to subordinates, as well as establishing deadlines and modifying work schedules to meet deadlines as needed
