About the position

The role involves designing and manufacturing high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) for Apple's next-generation products. The position focuses on generating and analyzing GPU efficiency projections and performance per watt metrics, collaborating with various teams to influence GPU architecture and feature sets, and improving methodologies for accurate projections from concept to silicon.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and analyze GPU Efficiency Projections and Performance per watt for each generation of GPU throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive the methodology for generating projections to enhance accuracy and quality.
  • Manage System and Chip level Power team requests for GPU projections.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Power, and Static timing teams to establish Frequency-Voltage curves for workloads.
  • Gather data for Efficiency curves and analyze the impact with Performance and Power teams.
  • Work with the Silicon Validation team to refine projections based on silicon data.
  • Collaborate with the GPU architecture team to set power targets and assess the impact of features on efficiency.

Requirements

  • BS degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Power and Silicon technology.
  • Proficiency in Python, Perl, or other scripting/coding skills.
  • Experience in data analysis, data mining, and triage.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of low power design and implementation techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional groups.
  • Experience in ASIC power analysis using PowerArtist, PTPX, and power projections.
  • Experience in post-silicon power correlation.
  • Familiarity with power management techniques.
  • Experience with Performance modeling.
  • Experience with GPU workloads.
