Lockheed Martin is seeking for a GPS Satellite Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support technical studies to enhance and extend spacecraft operations.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, technical writing and oral presentation skills
  • Fluency with standard Microsoft Office Products
  • Competency with basic engineering analysis practices
  • Familiarity with basic programming languages and concepts (MATLAB, C#, Visual Basic)
  • Ability to acquire a DoD SECRET security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with satellite operations, systems and practices
  • Basic understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors
  • Experience with military facilities, personnel, and practices
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Function as a Subsystem Engineer supporting real-time operations of the Global Positioning System satellite constellation through subsystem performance assessment, on-orbit operations support, and anomaly identification and resolution
  • Support test and readiness activities including exercises, rehearsals, early orbit operations, and on orbit checkout activities for new spacecraft
  • Provide support to the Mission Operations Manager and lead engineers for a designated spacecraft subsystem
  • Perform tracking, trending and analysis of on-orbit spacecraft data
  • Interface with United States Space Force personnel during on-orbit operations, performance assessment reviews and course of action determination briefings
  • Provide and review written spacecraft performance assessments
  • Maintain certifications to provide periodic 24x7 on-call engineering support and on-console operations in support of assigned missions
  • Adhere to standard engineering practices and approved GPS Mission Operations Group processes and procedures
