About The Position

The Communications Intern for the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) supports and promotes the impact of the IAC, its programs, and services, ensuring they reach and resonate with Indiana's people and communities. This role involves developing social media content, storytelling, and promotional toolkits, as well as aiding in the planning and execution of in-person training events. The intern will gain exposure to state government operations and participate in professional growth activities.

Requirements

• Current student at an accredited college or university, having completed at least one year of undergraduate education.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in content creation and storytelling.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analyze program outcomes.
• Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and familiar with social media platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with digital marketing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
• Interest in arts advocacy and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Examine final grant reports to source engaging content for storytelling and social media.
• Conduct research, pitch ideas, and write content to support outreach and awareness.
• Assist in the annual grant announcement by creating social media content and toolkits.
• Lead the planning and execution of appreciation strategies for grant panelists.
• Facilitate the planning and execution of in-person training events.

Benefits

• This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
