Governor's School Instructors

About The Position

Instructors will each teach one assigned course to high school students participating in the Governor's School program. Open positions include: Introduction to Global Studies (college credit) Argumentation Arabic Language and Culture Chinese Language and Culture (college credit) Classes meet weekdays from late June through late July 2026, with no classes on weekends, the University holiday (Friday, July 3), or the final Friday of the program. Specifically, the program runs Monday, June 29, 2026, through Friday, July 24, 2026. Each instructor will be responsible for delivering an academically rigorous and engaging course appropriate for high-achieving high school students in a pre-collegiate setting. Course materials and a finalized syllabus are due by June 1, 2026. Additional responsibilities include attending weekly staff meetings, completing weekly student evaluations, and participating in the closing ceremony on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Canvas will be available for instructional use and course management.

Requirements

  • Applicants must hold or be actively working toward a terminal degree in the subject area or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience instructing a Governor's School course is preferred.
