This Government Relations Specialist (Federal) will be responsible to: Coordinate the development and execution of the public policy agenda for each legislative session with the guidance of departmental leadership. Ensure that the priorities of key internal and external stakeholders are reflected in the legislative agenda and identify opportunities to advance the agenda. Help monitor and advance budget and appropriations priorities. Arrange and participate in meetings with policymakers and community leaders. Maintain relationships with key legislative and administrative staff, plan and execute tours and events designed to educate policymakers and community leaders about the Hospital. Research emerging public policy issues. Analyze the impact of policies on specific populations (e.g., children on Medicaid, children with chronic health care conditions). Provide legislative and administrative support by working closely with the Government Relations team to identify issues relevant to child health. Represent the Hospital at relevant coalition and association meetings and events. In collaboration with Government Relations senior staff, coordinate BCH leadership and family participation in coalition or association events, working groups, educational sessions, and advocacy initiatives. Assist with the Hospital's grassroots program, ensuring legislative advocacy representation in trainings and events. Establish and report on metrics around this work. Highlight the hospital's commitment to children and access. Manage and drafts content for Government Relations internal and external advocacy communications and pediatric policy issues. Develop documents, meeting materials, and presentations, as well as proofreading and editing materials for content messaging and grammar. Support existing and develops new internal and external distribution channels for Government Relations material. Respond to and track information and constituent service requests. Provide admin support to the team, including maintaining record-keeping systems, scheduling appointments and meetings, reserving meeting room locations and catering, submitting check requests and travel expense reports, collecting and recording information in hospital databases, and compiling and distributing reports.
