About The Position

This role offers a unique opportunity to serve as the primary liaison between an innovative autonomous trucking organization and state and local communities. You will build trust and establish meaningful relationships with government agencies, universities, community organizations, and other stakeholders while promoting awareness of emerging transportation technologies. The position involves coordinating outreach programs, public demonstrations, and informational sessions to foster understanding and engagement. You will work cross-functionally with policy, communications, and operations teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of initiatives. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, proactive relationship-builder, and strategic thinker who thrives in dynamic environments and can translate complex technology into clear, accessible insights. This role is remote within Texas and offers the chance to influence public perception and regulatory engagement in a fast-evolving industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Political Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–7+ years of experience in legislative affairs, government relations, public affairs, or community engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience working with elected officials, state and local government agencies, or community organizations preferred.
  • Skilled at building trust, fostering relationships, and translating complex technical concepts into accessible language.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Passionate about advancing innovative, safe transportation technologies and community engagement initiatives.

  • Experience working with elected officials, state and local government agencies, or community organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization at community events, town halls, business association meetings, chambers of commerce, and local conferences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with state and local government officials, community leaders, academic institutions, workforce organizations, and non-profits.
  • Coordinate facility tours, technology demonstrations, educational programs, and informational sessions to increase awareness of autonomous trucking solutions.
  • Support legislative tracking, policy research, and development of briefs, memos, and summaries.
  • Manage outreach calendars, identify partnership opportunities, and ensure cross-functional alignment with communications, policy, operations, and safety teams.
  • Serve as a liaison for first responder programs and other strategic engagement initiatives, providing ongoing support to senior government affairs leadership.
