About The Position

The Cost Report and Government Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for the preparation, coordination, and management of the reimbursement-related regulatory filings for Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental or non-governmental agencies. This position analyzes government program revenue streams and understands financial impacts that arise from operational and programmatic changes. The role collaborates with the Payer Contracting and Revenue Cycle teams and does not directly manage other caregivers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in healthcare finance or related field, including regulatory reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Certified Healthcare Financial Professional.
  • Previous work experience in consulting, in a multi-hospital system, health insurer, or MAC.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation, filing, settlement, and audit of cost reports and reimbursement-related regulatory filings.
  • Prepare and/or review Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and related work papers.
  • Manage the production of compliant State and Federal cost reporting documents.
  • Analyze the reimbursement impact of proposed new programs, payment models, services, and operating strategies.
  • Prepare and analyze proposed audit adjustment impacts.
  • Review monthly workbooks and journal entries for third party settlements.
  • Assist the Accounting team in validating that workbooks stay current with regulatory changes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate statutory filings.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of government payer performance reports.
  • Provide expertise to reimbursement strategies and coordinate appeal opportunities.
