About The Position

The Government Reimbursement Analyst will be responsible for completing cost report working papers, financial analysis, and preparing month-end journal entries and other miscellaneous financial reports for multiple hospitals. This individual will report to the Manager of Reimbursement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) years of financial analysis, healthcare compliance, or reimbursement experience

Responsibilities

  • Compile financial and statistical data necessary to prepare the annual Medicare, Medicaid cost reports, and Tricare cost reports for all hospital facilities and Rural Health Clinics.
  • Monitor and assist the Transplant billing team with proper routing of organ acquisition charge capture for the Medicare cost report.
  • Assist with compilation of data for annual Medicaid disproportionate share hospital surveys and audits.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries necessary to ensure reimbursement estimates, and settlement activities are properly accrued and reported.
  • Coordinate and maintain the physician time study database to ensure participation compliance as well as updates for terminations and additions.
  • Assist reimbursement auditors in the accumulation of information requested as part of cost report audits/reviews.
  • Prepare necessary documentation to support filings with Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Compile and submit annual wage index reviews and occupational mix reviews as directed by CMS.
  • Keep abreast of cost report standards to ensure compliance with directives issued by CMS.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through CMS bulletins, conferences and seminars.
