About The Position

The Government Operations Consultant II position at the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County is a complex administrative and consultative role focused on supporting public health initiatives. Requirements

  • Skill in conducting investigative case follow-up.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with private sector medical facilities and health care providers regarding epidemiology and terrorism surveillance.
  • Provide direct coordination and support to the Epidemiology department at DOH - Pasco.
  • Investigate and follow up on reportable communicable diseases and conditions.
  • Encourage reporting from community health care providers of epidemiologically significant conditions.
  • Conduct interviews and home visits to identify communicable disease cases or outbreaks.
  • Advise medical professionals on disease control procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in reporting vaccine-preventable diseases to relevant offices.
  • Serve as a member of the Epidemiology Strike Team and respond to biological events.
  • Coordinate planning efforts for early detection and response to public health emergencies.
  • Maintain good public relations with community contacts and medical professionals.
