This is a highly responsible administrative position that functions with a high degree of visibility to the Emergency Communications Board and with all Florida 911 county coordinators. An employee in this position provides administrative, contractual and managerial support to Florida county 911 systems. The selected candidate will provide contractual support to the counties, review grant applications for compliance with state requirements, review and approve grant reimbursement packages submitted by counties, perform database queries to generate reports for agency staff, travel arrangements and other administrative functions in support of the Emergency Communications Board and DMS-DIVTEL 911 section. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide contractual guidance to counties to assist in their submission of their grant applications.Assist in the review of grants applications submitted for the Rural County and State 911 grant programs and provide feedback to applicants to ensure grant requests are in compliance with Florida Emergency Communications Board rules for grant applications. Assist the 911 section in the administration of grants to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.Review incoming quarterly reports and provide a quarterly summary to the Statewide 911 Coordinator. Utilize existing forms in Microsoft Access to generate reports needed by DMS management in support of the Florida Emergency Communications Board Prepare grant agreements for awarded grants and send to the counties for completion..Completes required documentations needed as part of the grant administration processCoordinate with county 911 coordinators on required documentation to process their requests for reimbursement.Prepares grant reimbursement request package for final approval by senior 911 staff.Review counties Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR) submitted by the counties. Reports audit findings related to the 911 programs to the Statewide 911 Coordinator. Assist in the transport, setup, and operation of audio equipment in support of board meetings. May rarely be required to work overtime.Researches and submits information to the Board on topics related to Next Generation-911 (NG-911).

  • Knowledge of telephony, data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic project management principles and practices.
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize work assignments.
  • Ability to assist with program presentations and training workshops on 911 related issues.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Strong communications skills (both written and oral).

  • An associate degree or higher in finance or accounting or auditing or business administration or management, or you may substitute at least two years of experience in a related field for the minimum degree requirement.
  • Ability to travel statewide to present technical reports and training classes is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.
