About The Position

As a Military Government Sales Representative, you will play a critical role in building and nurturing relationships with military and government clients. You'll manage the entire sales lifecycle—from identifying prospects to closing deals—while working with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs. Your ability to cultivate long-term relationships and effectively manage accounts will be crucial to your success.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years in sales account management or as an account executive.
  • Government Accounts: Experience managing federal government accounts is highly desirable.
  • Relationship Building: Proven success in building client relationships that drive growth.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Technology Skills: Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel Ready: Valid passport (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) and a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Trade Show Setup: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and set up/dismantle trade show booths.
  • Ambitious Mindset: Motivated to grow the sales pipeline and meet ambitious goals.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Process Management: Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to order fulfillment and post-sale support.
  • Client Relationship Development: Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to develop and present product solutions.
  • Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to directors on leads, opportunities, and sales performance.
  • Pipeline Management: Build a strong sales pipeline aligned with Microtech’s overall goals.
  • Training: Deliver training on product offerings, competitive landscape, and sales strategies.
  • Event Representation: Represent Microtech Knives at national and international trade shows and industry events.
  • Expense Management: Maintain detailed records of travel expenses, sales activities, and results.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly sales reports highlighting accomplishments and challenges.
  • Travel: Travel for business, including overnight stays and occasional weekends.
