We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Advisory Director to join the team in our Government and Public Sector team. CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered remote which means it does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. However, as a remote employee, you may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings. YOUR TEAM. CohnReznick's Government and Public Sector Advisory practice is looking for emergency management and disaster recovery leaders who thrive in complex, high-stakes environments—building recovery programs, strengthening readiness, and helping communities navigate response and long-term recovery. Our practice partners with leaders across government and the public sector to strengthen program design and delivery, improve operational readiness, and support disaster recovery and resilience efforts—from strategy through execution. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Lead and manage advisory engagements for government and public sector clients Develop and implement strategic solutions several industries, including, emergency management and disaster recovery. Provide expert guidance on federal grants and compliance, with a strong emphasis on 2 CFR 200. Engage in business development activities to identify and secure new clients. Develop meaningful relationships with prospective clients and provide solutions for challenges related to state or federally-funded programs. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and retention. Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in government and public sector advisory. YOUR EXPERIENCE. The successful candidate will have: Bachelor’s Degree Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in government or public sector advisory, consulting, or a related field. Proven track record of leading and managing complex advisory engagements Demonstrated experience leading business development and capture efforts, including opportunity identification, pipeline growth, and end‑to‑end pursuit strategy. Strong understanding of federal grants and compliance, particularly Strong understanding of federal grants and compliance, particularly 2 CFR 200. Hands-on expertise with FEMA Public Assistance (PA), Individual Assistance (IA), Hazard Mitigation (HM), and/or Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) programs across multiple Presidentially declared disasters Proven ability to develop operational guidance, monitoring plans, and standardized procedures; provide technical assistance to recipients, subrecipients and stakeholders to improve Leadership experience managing large-scale portfolios (e.g., Programs exceeding $1B) and supervising multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced disaster operations Experience delivering briefings, trainings, and webinars on program eligibility, documentation requirements, and disaster recovery guidance for state agencies and local jurisdictions nationwide A team player with a positive attitude & strong client focus Desire to solve problems and provide solutions Ability to interpret and apply business requirements Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally Record of developing and maintain outstanding client relationships Must be organized and be able to handle multiple tasks Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) Strong critical thinking abilities Ability to travel as needed Previous federal, state agency or large metropolitan municipalities experience is required; experience working with FEMA Programs is strongly preferred Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Emergency Manager, (CEM) or State Certified Emergency Manager certification preferred. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
