About The Position

As a Government Affairs & Sustainability Intern at Lennox, you will be a part of a team of innovative and knowledgeable industry professionals. You can expect to participate in impactful, developmental projects designed for your specific area of focus. This is approximately a 10 to 12-week program that will provide you with real work experiences to grow your career and provide exposure to business leaders throughout the company. Successful interns will have the potential opportunity of joining Lennox Full-Time upon graduation. Relocation and/or travel may be required for your position.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Developing professional knowledge in the area of expertise.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ESG concepts, sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. SASB, TCFD), or climate‑related regulations
  • Interest in sustainability, environmental policy, corporate responsibility, or related fields
  • Experience with spreadsheets, structured datasets, or basic data visualization tools
  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Public Policy/Political Science, Business/Sustainable Business, Economics, Pre‑Law, or Communications

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with preparation and review of the annual Sustainability Report
  • Supporting research and responses to ESG surveys and rating agency requests
  • Benchmarking sustainability disclosures across industry peers
  • Conducting research on sustainability‑related regulations, climate policy, and emerging disclosure requirements
  • Organizing and managing ESG data and documentation
  • Supporting additional sustainability and government affairs projects as assigned

  • Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $19.00 – $22.00/hour. This rate is based on the intern's current year in their respective university programs. Graduate students may receive a higher rate of pay based on their year in school. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
