The Government Affairs (GA) team engages with elected officials and regulators at the federal, state, and local levels. Our mission is to foster relationships with public officials and advocate for policies that support Robinhood's mission to democratize finance for all. This includes supporting the Robinhood Markets PAC, facilitating executive meetings with policymakers, and advising business leaders based on evolving legislative and regulatory activity. As a Government Affairs Intern, you'll contribute to monitoring and interpreting policy trends, helping prepare materials for stakeholder engagement, and supporting the team in its interactions with lawmakers and regulatory bodies. This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or Master's degree
  • Experience working with or in federal, state and local government or government affairs and/or understanding legislation and regulations
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information effectively internally and externally and to drive cross-functional alignment and action
  • Execution oriented attitude with the humility, drive, and creativity to get things done
  • Eagerness to learn about new technologies and financial services topics

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the U.S. Congress or regulatory bodies is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with financial services companies and ability to communicate complex financial services policy, with a proven track record of advancing interests in these areas

Responsibilities

  • Utilize political and policy expertise to identify opportunities that advance Robinhood's policy priorities
  • Equip key internal stakeholders with clear and timely understanding of complex legislative and regulatory policies
  • Track and summarize legislative and regulatory developments impacting Robinhood's business
  • Assist in the preparation of policy materials and memos for meetings with policymakers
  • Help manage the team's stakeholder engagement activities, including scheduling and logistics
  • Conduct research and monitor congressional hearings and relevant government activity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Legal, Communications, and External Affairs
