We’re looking for a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Specialist to help strengthen risk management and governance across our COO function. In this role, you’ll support the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and wider teams to embed effective risk practices, provide expert guidance, and help leaders make informed, balanced decisions. As a trusted advisor, you’ll be the go‑to specialist for GRC matters, offering insight, challenge and solutions across areas such as risk & compliance, governance, assurance, operational resilience, and reporting. You’ll play a key role in maturing our frameworks, improving controls, and ensuring our ways of working meet regulatory and industry best practice.

Requirements

  • Experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) roles.
  • Strong understanding of risk frameworks and control environments.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and support RCSA activity.
  • Confident in advising, influencing, and constructively challenging stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, able to turn data into clear insight.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert support on governance, risk and compliance activities across the COO First Line.
  • Lead and support risk assessments, control improvement activity, and the application of core risk frameworks.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory requests and partner with auditors and SMEs to support reviews and remediation.
  • Contribute to COO governance through forum support, action tracking, and high‑quality paper and reporting preparation.
  • Deliver assurance activity and help mature our control environment.
  • Produce insightful, accurate management information for Board and senior leadership.
  • Support the embedding of Operational Resilience, including BIAs, continuity planning, scenario testing and incident management.
  • Stay ahead of industry and regulatory developments, sharing insights and driving continuous improvement.
