The Governance & Control Specialist manages a portfolio of governance and control activities for moderately complex or high-risk business or functional area and implements policies/processes and/or initiatives to meet governance and control guidelines. Acts as a technical lead on key control initiatives. This is a new team build out. G&C Specialist will be responsible for the development and implementation of the process for data quality verifications and creating metrics around them for the 1st line G&C department.

  • Manage a portfolio of governance and control activities for moderately complex or high-risk business areas.
  • Implement policies/processes and initiatives to meet governance and control guidelines.
  • Act as a technical lead on key control initiatives.
  • Develop and implement processes for data quality verifications.
  • Create metrics for the 1st line G&C department.
  • Lead cross-functional teams or projects with significant resource requirements.
  • Independently manage end-to-end functional programs.
  • Solve complex problems and develop new solutions.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the business governance and control function.
  • Develop and document a comprehensive inventory of processes and controls.
  • Participate in the intake of applicable regulation and assess impact to the business line.
  • Review end-to-end processes and controls to increase standardization.
  • Provide direction to complex, wide-ranging enterprise or cross-function/business projects.
  • Conduct analysis at the functional or enterprise level.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced business understanding and knowledge of risk and control functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of governance, risk and control procedures, strategies & tactics.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives that support delivery execution for multiple teams.
  • Ability to lead, plan, execute and evaluate project activities.
  • Skill in mentoring and performance management.
  • Skill in using analytical software tools and data analysis methods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams.
  • Experience with ILED and Data Quality.
  • Ability to collaborate well with team.
  • Merlin/Archer experience helpful.
